Did you Know? Kohn Pedersen Fox was hired to design 1201 3rd Ave while he was visiting Seattle for an interview to design the Seattle Art Museum.

Upon the building’s completion in 1988, 1201 3rd Ave received widespread acclaim for its fusion of classical Art Deco architecture with a feeling of modernity. The New York Times named it as one fo the three best new US office buildings and Architecture Magazine hailed 1201 3rd Ave as “perhaps the best recent addition to any U.S. skyline.” The building’s most recent and possibly strangest honor was a CGI appearance in the trailer for the film Inception (2010).
